24 Acoustics were contracted by Helius Energy in 2011 to undertake a noise impact assessment and provide the associated noise chapter of the environmental statement supporting the client’s proposal for a new biomass-fuelled 100MW energy generation plant in the Port of Southampton.
Having undertaken background noise surveys throughout the area – and working in close consultation with the local authority, the Environment Agency and the local community – 24 Acoustics provided detailed acoustic modelling and acoustic engineering guidance to reduce noise emissions from the plant.
